Why You MUST Have A Blog To Build Your List In 2016!

Things are changing when it comes to building a list.  Anybody who doesn’t see that Email Marketing has become much more competitive over the last two years isn’t looking very closely.  Those of us in the “Business Opportunity/Online Business” niche are certainly feeling the heat.  It used to be so easy.  I remember when I started building my very first list in 2009.  I was easily adding 50-100 new subscribers to my list every single day within a month or so. I was doing it mainly through ad swapping, which was not very well-known at that time.  However, it caught on pretty quickly, and then, as usually happens with any good thing, the scammers and lowlifes came along and brought their scamming ways with them.

The autoresponder companies saw this and soon enough decided ad swapping was just a  little too risky, and a little too spammy.  Turns out they were right.  I mean, think about it.  Joe swaps with Tim who just swapped with Ann, and then the very next day Ann swaps with Joe.  Essentially what ends up happening is a whole bunch of marketers end up sharing the same leads.  It ends up, at some point, becoming a redundant process.  Anyway, it’s pretty much over with and I certainly don’t recommend doing it anymore.

My point is, moving forward, the best way to build a list is the right way, and that’s with a website.  Not just any website, mind you.  A website with absolutely killer content!  That’s what it’s going to take to succeed in 2016.  I’m pretty sure that just about everyone in the “Biz Opp” niche has felt a decline in their list and their sales  in the past year or two.  I’ve talked to many of my fellow marketers on Facebook and they all have pretty much the same thing to say.  It’s getting tougher.  The reality is folks, it’s going to get even tougher.

We know what the problem is.  Now what’s the solution?  Well, the solution is CONTENT.  I don’t mean ordinary, $10 article content, either.  I mean incredible content that makes people want to hit the share buttons on your blog the minute they finish reading.  Content is the name of the game.  The quickest way to get your content out there is to have a blog.  Your blog will draw targeted traffic from the search engines, and then some of those visitors will subscribe to your list.  Once that happens, it’s your job to build a relationship with your subscribers, and in the process build your business.

My message is simple.  2016 will be the year of the blog!  That’s why I have decided to build a blog from the ground up and document the process.  I’m working on the first video now so it won’t be long until the course begins.  Make sure you sign up for blog updates so you don’t miss the first video!

I have had blogs in the past and just got tired of having to come up with the content for each of them so gave them up only to end up building yet another one so YES eventually you will want a blog as it tends to become your headquarters. It also acts as a stable home to bring your web visitors to.

    If you are not keen to blogging then at least set up a Facebook page that acts as a blog so people will have a main spot to check you out at 😉

    • I can totally identify with you. I probably started close to 25 blogs before I found a topic that I really loved. Once I started blogging about IM products and doing reviews I knew I had found the right niche to blog about because it didn’t seem like work.

      I really think that in 2016 blogging is going to be the best way to build a list. I think a lot of the list building methods that were popular in the IM niche like ad swapping are dying off slowly. I think having a blog that brings in traffic from the search engines and social media is super important nowadays.
